Interval: Marked by Time
60 × 24 inches | Acrylic on Canvas | Triptych
Artist StatementÂ
Perception is rarely as continuous as we imagine. We experience the world in fragments—glimpses of light, passing forms, moments of clarity interrupted by movement.
Interval: Marked by Time explores the space between what we see and what we perceive. Inspired by the sensation of traveling through an underground train station, the painting dissolves familiar structures into streaks of color, light, and motion. Faint suggestions of a timetable and digital imagery emerge from the abstraction, offering fleeting points of recognition within an otherwise shifting environment.
The three panels interrupt the visual flow, creating physical intervals within the composition. These spaces become part of the experience, suggesting that perception is shaped as much by what happens between moments as by the moments themselves.
Perhaps what defines an experience is not simply what we see, but what our minds create in the spaces between.
