First Snow

12 × 24 inches | Acrylic on Canvas

“Snow falling softly on lashes of eyes you love…”
— James Schuyler

Artist Statement:

There is something magical about the first snow of the season. The city grows quieter, familiar streets begin to change, and for a moment everything feels new again.

In First Snow, two figures make their way through the falling snow beneath a brilliant red umbrella—the warmth of their connection set against the cool blues and softening edges of the winter city.

It is a painting about one of those small, ordinary moments that somehow feels anything but ordinary.
