“In the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary.” – Aaron Rose
Artist Statement:
One rainy evening in New York City, I was captivated by the interplay of light and shadow. The rain-soaked streets reflected the shimmering lights, creating a mesmerizing dance of colors. The warmth of the street lights drew me in, offering comfort amidst the city’s relentless energy.
Inspired by this experience, I created “Catch The Light” to capture that feeling. Through abstract representation, I played with light and color to evoke the emotions I felt that night. The painting highlights the contrast between the city’s overwhelming presence and its intimate moments of connection.
“Catch The Light” invites viewers to pause, reflect, and find their own light within the city’s embrace.

“I love to capture a moment in time, be it passengers waiting for a train, people on crowded street, or a lone figure on a rainy night,” says Stewart. “There is simplicity in a moment, but the complexity of the story it tells is what fascinates me.”
Ran Stewart is a fine artist who works from his studio in Salt Lake City. He has shown work locally and nationally for over 30 years. Most recently several of his pieces have been adopted into the Permanent Utah Artist Collection at the Ray Olpin Union at the University of Utah.
