Artist Statement:
The inspiration for this piece comes from a moment I had standing on a busy street corner in Chicago. As I glanced across the street I saw someone who looked like me glancing back. It was unclear if he would walk down the other side of the same street or go down the other street.
It sparked my imagination about the effect of our choices. How will our lives change by choosing one street over another? How will our story change? How many realities do we create with every decision?
The piece was designed to be hung in one of two ways, either two roads diverging at a street corner or one road going to a single vanishing point.
As many of my pieces draw the viewer in to discover the story it tells them, this piece goes a step further and engages the collector to choose how it will hang and thus influence the narrative.
