Artist Statement: Part of the In-Motion series, these paintings are defocused, high-key interpretations of everyday scenes, capturing the energy of moments like riding an escalator, walking through a busy airport, or getting caught in the rain. By stepping out of the frame, the stress of a commute transforms into a beautiful ballet. Each piece starts with a simple photo or video from my phone, which I then paint using a limited palette. Through layered brush strokes, I tell a story in two dimensions, carefully deciding the most important elements to include. In the end I hope invites you into the art and to find your own story.
